Bowsin pvp viable?

I don't pvp very much, or play assassins in general. But I've gotten bored of pvm again since ladder reset, so I decided to make a pvp character!

What I'm thinking of doing I making an assassin using widowmaker for guided arrow, and a high level of venom. I'm gonna take a look for a guide, but does anyone have experience with this sort of a build?|||If you don't pvp, and especially don't play sins often, I highly recommend you don't. They get very hard to play.

I'd recommend trying another to get used to sins and fast play--a Ghost or Trapper perhaps.

About the build itself...

You basically need BoS active at all times. This lets you shoot quickly and maneuver well. The high venom will only be helpful if you can stun the opponent. Using Nef for KB helps this.

They usually focus even more on stun locking than normal sins, and you have to do it quickly.

Maxing Venom and MB are a definite.

Here is a sample of one dueling a bvc.|||I'm not to worried about the difficulty, I have had a couple of successful lld's this ladder so I'm not completely new. Also, the widowmaker is pretty much my favorite weapon in the game, so I refuse to build any other character

But a couple questions I had,

would BoS be better then fade + enigma for maneuvering? I'm not sure what the bp is, but I was thinking trying to hit a decent teleporting rate, and load up on ias from items. That would allow me to use fade, and have a better chance against casters. Perhaps a shael/nice ias jewel in the bow, and a pair of gloves with 20ias and knockback.

lets see.. fcr: 10% -ammy 10% -ring 20% -belt that would only be 40.. But if i feel like spending I could get 20% fcr helm and a crafted 15% ammy to hit the 65% bp.. or, 20% off of trangs gloves, but I'd loose the ias.

But then I don't see much room for ias, any idea how much would be needed/what I would be aiming for?

Would it be better to not teleport?|||I never noticed this before, but the IAS BPs for Widowmaker are identical to traps. Since it has a WSM of 0, you need 125 IAS on gear. A level 9 BoS needs only 20 IAS, which is usually covered by Highlords.

Fade just isn't an option. You'll shoot too slowly.

Nef the bow and keep Trangs. It adds FCR and venom damage and is irreplaceable. KB and IAS can be found elsewhere.

FCR is 65% (min) and is easily done with Trangs (20), Arach (20), Circlet (20), and Ring (10). This frees the amulet for other things like Highlord's.

Even with BoS where you'll run occasionally, you'll need teleport. You wouldn't be able to make up for losing the mobility.|||Quote:

LLD and High Level are two different monsters, or whatever you want to call it.

I too would strongly recommend a ghost, fun for fighting all but the barbs, unless they're really badly built for pvp (ie frenzy).

While it can be done, its not all that logical to me considering all the hotkeys I have for a pure trap alone, let alone a ghost. Switching between GA and mind blast doesn't seem all that wise considering you have traps in your disposal, that properly synergize for over a max of 12k damage per LS trap alone.

But really, pvpwise sins are a stunlock powerhouse - try a 1 point mb (or more) with at least 65%fcr and you'll get an idea of just how useful mb is by itself =)|||Thanks for all the input. I am pretty set on the whole bowsin thing, but the beauty of the new patch is respecing as much as you want. So if it does end up being a failure, I can just do that It will take me probably to the end of the week to level and collect the gear I need, and then i'll see how this works out.

I'm definatly going to use BoS, as 125 seems a little over the top. so let's see:

Helm: 20fcr circlet

Ammy: highlords

Armor: Enigma

Belt: Arachnids

Boots: ? not to sure on this, rare resistance boots maybe?

Gloves: Trangs

Weapon1: widowmaker

Weapon2: Claws? Not to sure here either

Rings: You said 20fcr off of rings, but isn't ravenfrost necessary in builds that rely on being fast? I could always keep an fcr ammy in my stash and a ravenfrost, to switch incase I end up needing them|||I did mean 10. I've edited it, thanks

For boots, maybe Gores since OW is also something you should look into.

On weapon swap, CTA should be fine.|||Quote:

That's true, OW seems like it would go along quite nice with venom. Well, now I have a few different gear idea's in mind, I guess all there is to do is try them out. Thanks alot for all the help|||I would drop the highlords for a FCR amulet and go for a crafted blood belt. Gores for boots like Sass said.

I don't think the physical damage will be that high so DS from highlords is important. 2x JoF in the helm to cover the IAS requirements.|||As far as boots, definitely gores, I have trouble picking anything else on my melee builds. I do see some potential as you have more tools at your disposal than the usual palli ranger or whatever they're called--And unlike a zon, you can actually teleport at a relatively sane rate.
