How to automatically WSM-bug your claws

Hi everyone, I'd like to share a trick I've used in to WSM-bug the claws of my trapper without needing to lift the glove-side claw every time you switch the weapons after casting BO from CtA.

As we know the trap laying speed of a dual-wielding assassin is based on average WSM (=weapon speed modifier) and the total IAS from all slots except the secondary claw. I think there's a table in the sticky showing how much IAS is needed to reach 9-frame trap laying speed for different Average WSMs.

From my observation, the most common way to achieve 9-frame trap laying speed while maintaining 102fcr C/C fade setup is to wield two greater talons, with the primary gt socketed with 2x 15ias jewels and griffon's socketed with 15ias jewel for a total of 45ias. However I encountered several issues with this setup:

1) The lack of Cannot Be Frozen mod

2) The cost of 2sin/3ls/2os gt

3) No extra IAS to counter slow (e.g. the 10% slow on arachnid)

I was lucky and got a 2sin/3ls/2os gt for cheap, and decided to buy a slower 2/3/2 claw as my secondary because they are much cheaper even with additional staffmods (I bought a 2/3/1wb/2 scissors quhab, raising my weapon block by another percentage) and overcame the speed problem by WSM-bugging.

However, it wasn't long before manual WSM-bugging became really annoying and I finally came up with a way to automatically WSM-bug my claws:

1) The boot-side claw should be a 2os gt socketed with shael + 7fhr/dex jewel

2) The slower glove-side claw must have a slightly higher dex requirement than gt (the best choice would be a scissors quhab, dex requirement 82; the next choice is a war fist with -15req jewel, dex req 92)

3) Without the claws on, you should have enough dex to equip boot-side gt but not enough to equip the glove-side claw without the dex from the gt.

Hence whenever the weapon slot is switched to BO etc and switched back, the gt will always be equipped first before the glove side claw and the claws will automatically be WSM-bugged

I hope that was not confusing seeing how this has turned into a wall-o-text. Here's my trapper setup as an example:

Helm: Griffon's (Cham or Jah)

Boot-side/Primary claw: 2sin/3ls/2os gt (Shael + 7fhr/7dex/light res jewel)

Glove-side/Off-hand claw: 2sin/3ls/1wb/2os sq (7fhr/res jewels x2)

Boots: Shadow dancers 2sd/19dex (i.e. 79dex with anni+torch)

Amulet: 2sin/17fcr

Ring 1: fcr/str/mana/res

Ring 2: fcr/str/mana/res

20stats anni and torch

enigma

magefists

arachnid

Cta + spirit monarch on switch.

This setup gives 51fhr from gears alone due to an extra socket in the gt (without WSM-bug both sockets would have to be filled with IAS jewels).

An alternative setup if using war fist:

Boot-side/Primary claw: 2sin/3ls/2os gt (15ias/res + 7fhr/7+ dex/light res jewels)

Glove-side/Off-hand claw: 2sin/3ls/1wb/2os war fist (7fhr/-15req rare jewel OR Hel + 7fhr/res jewel)

Boots: Shadow dancers 2sd/25dex (i.e. 85dex with anni+torch, 92 including the dex from gt)

the rest of gears unchanged.

The main reason to autowsmbug is the convenience and the lower cost. Nonetheless even the people who can afford 2sin/3ls/40ias/2os gt can benefit from wsm-bugging as not only they will benefit from the extra sockets, the base 40ias on the gt is also enough to counter arachnid's slow with wsm-bugging (without wsm-bug 70ias is needed).

Tested and works 100%. Hopefully this small trick could be helpful to trappers out there

ps: I couldn't believe I managed to type such a long post. Hats off to the guide-makers.|||yup this works.

(usually) cheaper claws, more ias stack, free helm socket, no loss of ability to wsg.

one thing to note (I think) you won't be able to reequip from cta side if you happen to die on it. so for trappers who use automated wsmbug and like to use wsg or seomthing, its something to know.

btw this trick has been around for a little while, first heard of it a few years back when someone stumbled on automated wsm bugging happen by accident, but it wasn't really talked about in guides and such, so nice writeup. |||Quote:

i think if you die on cta side, you just have to pick up your body, switch to claw side, and pick up the remaining corpse a second time.

it's like dying on bowside with a zon that uses str from titans to wear SS|||Quote:

ya thats what I meant. can't do it with a single click.

gives that potential for being nked or something so its just good to know about it to avoid potential nonsense ya know.|||Thanks, I hadn't even thought about using stat reqs to bug claws.
