Struggling on on baal runs @ /p8

Ive been runnoing lately baal with my sin and i know i might have trouble on that /p8 settings due my merc, beeing only 87.. but it must be smth else..

Skills:

All LS synergies

1pt shadowmaster

10 pt firebomb

Anyway heres my items:

Shako Ptopaz

Enigma MP

Arach

2x SoJ

Magefists

HoTo / Spirit

switch 6BO CtA/Spirit

Mara

Merc have:

eAndy with a 30% fire res jewel

Infinity eThresher

Fortitude

The trouble comes with the last 2 wave on the throne.. merc goes pewpew and leaves me teleing and trapping along with shadow master tanking..

ANy advice?



for the record i clean the pits in 1.30ish but Baal is my bane!!

I tele middle of two pillars at right side while waiting those two last waves. Then I tele little back. By doing this monsters follow merc and merc can take/tank monsters almost one by one. This way merc can avoid baal's decrepify curse too, so he attacks faster and takes less damage in.

Last two waves are usually easiest, even without BO.

I prefer Vampire Gaze with Ench+poison jool for merc's helmet. That way he has 20% damage reduced and does little cold (little slow effect) and little poison (even that 20 per 2 seconds) to cancel monsters regeration (as Prevent Monster Heal from infy don't work with mercs).|||Hmm gotta try that thx for the tip! even at /p5 i van handle very fast all the waves but dunno.. at /p8 he dies like a fly sqashed on a window :P

Honestly I don't see Baal on p8 worth it - Not only do you have to worry about throne room spawns (exploding dolls and burning souls galore) the drop rate isn't great.

I'm kinda surprised your merc is dying, but I take it you're not making use of mindblast - on the first 4 waves it can be annoying because of conversion - but it will not convert the last wave. Keep them in FHR and your merc will be a lot safer.

note - just saw it mentioned - so yes, MB is almost essential for last wave.|||SeCKSEgai: By /p8, I can only assume he means /p1 or /p3 WSK and Throne, /p8 minions, and /p3 Baal, so it shouldn't be a problem at all. Either way, it's a lot slower than other lvl 85 areas - if the superuniques actually dropped like normal superuniques it wouldn't be that bad but that alone is what killed it for me - had been doing tests between pits/AT/chaos/baal and baal has been the worst for drops by far, although I did get my kira's and one of my jah's from them - overall still doing much better in all the other areas.

There are always ways around the different obstacles, but they also can create quite a variance in run times depending on the spawn because of all the possible guest monsters.|||I tend to put myself on /p8 at the start of the session, clean Shenk, Eldritch and pindle (only take like +1 min all 3 and then im already BOed for WSK) then tele thru WSK 2,3 only dispatching random boss/championpacks then switching on p/3 before baal (if i remember )

Anyway I run prettymuch everything and Baal is only a part of my runs... Now i can tell after approx 8000 monotonous LK runs i prettymuch avoid to grind a single boss or area just coz.. well it gets boring

@Nagisa i got 7 skillers and teh Gheed and bunch of res charms.. Havent clocked my baal runs but depends on map, Pit run 1.20-1.50, AT done under 2min pindle around 25sec. Im trying to Frap up some runs but havent really got the time

EDIT: hmm i was wondering to either drop HoTo/Spirit shield if i find nice +3 LS and maybe +skill claw?
