Heavy PDR Assassin for PVM?

I did a search for this type of build but didn't find anything. I'm a noob planning a MA assassin in the future...

A few questions:

  1. Are MA assassins fragile? Assuming the answer was yes, I began thinking about PDR.

  2. Do MA assassins need a lot of mana? (I found a 25 pdr, 87 mana circlet)

  3. Any links or suggestions for a high integer-PDR + fade MA build Assassin?

|||1. It's situational, but no.

They easily stack up on DR%, res and block (claw block, which does more than a shield can and saves dex points). Kick variants easily leech with their high damage boots (typically, myrmidon greaves), so staying alive is usually no sweat. For trappers, they can have the same dr and res, but aren't normally hit nearly as often.

2. Well...enough to use at least 2-3 traps (usually 20 mana per) and still attack. Trappers won't leech, but gear like raven and BO (even low) boosts it enough to not have to worry. Kickers leech mana in a snap.

3. I don't think there are links for a sin built like that.

For integer, that circlet is excellent Also gear like Gladiator's Bane armor, Gerke's Sanctuary shield, sockets with Sol runes, etc will have high PDR.

For killing power, maybe a DTalon kicker since the rest seem too slow with fade.|||If you're planning on MA, it's hard not to recommend anything but kicker. I don't think anyone's bothered building a pdr/mdr integer reduced type sin specifically, but I would think the standard principles for those builds apply.

As a kicker, you won't have mana problems assuming you're leeching (as in have leech in gear) and two, are landing hits.

With a 50% pdr cap, it shouldn't be too hard to hit with gear and fade (every level of fade adds 1% pdr hidden if the old sources were correct). Add the integer pdr on top of that, you should be a happy camper.|||With the heavy elemental MA builds, it might be beneficial to use PDR, especially if you decide against obtaining claw block but still using two claws.

Using PDR on a kicker, like PDR on a zealot, don't have that big of an impact when you realize that they leech tons of life anyways.|||Yeah that is true, the leech pretty much covers most of it.|||But unlike a zealer, IAS is very hard to maintain with so much PDR. The elemental charges take such a high amount, BoS is the only practical solution. The strikes aren't much better, but not doable with PDR focus.|||But how many of us have the patience to use charge-ups when we can just dtalon them to death =P|||Thanks for the replies. Seems like something of a niche build, so I'll probably try a "standard" MA sin first, then decide if I actually want to gather all the gear together to focus on PDR.|||I made a PDR kicker once, although it wasn't completely focussed on PDR because it also had 90 res all due to GA.

I think the principle behind all PDR builds (as SSoG put it, dieing slower than the monsters instead of killing the monsters faster than they kill you) is unfavorable in this game.

Assassins have enough crowd control methods to keep safe. Spending a few skill-points for that is a lot more worthwhile than sacrificing pretty much all of your gear.|||Yea, I agree. Seems like the game rewards the "strong offense as a good defense" strategy rather than vice-versa.

I also wonder, having never made a PDR-based char before, why people never use PDR in moderation. I.E. ~60 PDR, which can be obtained by sacrificing the head and ammy slots, and would probably provide some measure of safety on an otherwise strong char.
