Help a Newb out with his build :)

[:1]So whatsup forums, im rather new to diablo 2.

To begin, i would like to apologise for my spelling, english is not my native language so... pelase forgive me on that.

also id like to apologise for the randomeness of the topics in this post, i typed this on the fly and cant be arsed to edit it... TBH if youre not gonna read through it all anyways dont bother replying in the first place.

now then:

Ive had the game for a long time but never got into it, but as of a week ago ive been getting more and more interested in it

read up a bunch on different builds, items, guides, tables etc...

but, its truthfully a bit overwhelming...

as this will be the first time i plan to go real deep into this game i would like some "expert help:

i tried several builds that seemd... fun, and also viable for a new player like me.

i tried a strafezon, a hammer din and a Fishymancer...

but, i never found Joy in playing them, maybe the reason i never got into this game? i dont know.

but, im now trying a martial arts assasin (LOVING IT SO FAR)

main skills i want to focus on are CoT, and either FoF or BoI... dont know which one would be best.

i really dont care for phoenix strike, i really dont... dont ask me why, i just dont like it :P

i also want to use dual claws, so as a finisher i guess i should use DC?

i read somewhere that if both claws hit with DC you could release the charges twice? seems kindof a moot point cause of next delay tho :/

anyways, the skills i plan on maxing are:

CoT

FoF/BoI

PS (synergy)

now, should i also Max dragon Claw? or is 1 point sufficient?

what about Claw mastery? max that?

i do plan on maxing BoS or Fade since i dont have acces to GREAT gear i figured this would offset the item dependancy a bit.

Weapon block, one point wonder or max it?

as i read it Shadow master and CoS are one point wonders right?

now then, on to equipement, is there any nice Low level gear i should get to make Normal ACT 3-5/nightmare easier? (lvl 1-30/40)

is there any gear thats REQUIRED to get through hell?

Infinity on a merc seems good, to break immunities or something (havent read much on this, so im not 100% sure how it works)

On a side note about phoenix strike, i dont like it for now, but since ive never actually had the chance to use it myself, i might find that i LOVE it later on, hell... theres a free reset per difficulty anyways so for now... dont judge me on that xD

Anyways, thanks for getting this far, any help you can provide would be much appreciated, and if i have any other questions, ill put them in here

-PEACE!!!|||Right off the bat, I can tell you that DClaw releases the charge(s) only once.

I recommend BoS, since good, fast claws will be hard to come by, and DClaw / charges themselves tend to be slow. Maxing DClaw will give you a higher release AR and Damage, but Mastery helps the charges as well. Ultimately, it'll fall on which of the two you focus on, but it's not much of a big deal. Go 10/10 if you feel like it. In terms of which element, at least BoI and one of your choosing.

No gear is required, but some low ones still work well. Things like Death's gloves / belt, angelic's ring / amulet, sander's boots, manald heal, "strength" runeword claws, sigon's combo, etc are all low level but very good gear.|||Hmm- you aren't the famous blixem/visje are you? I don't recall him using so many ellipses, but...

Anyway, the Assassin is great if you want to be really engaged with the game (even better if you play quake as assassins can require similarly complex key bindings.) I would recommend playing a pure trapper to begin with though, just to learn the game.

If you are dead-set on a martial arts assassin take a look at the setups used by Hardcore Martial Arts Assassins in SP. You'll find them in a stickied thread in the single player forum. Even if you plan to play on BNet it is worth reading them- if you can make the most of nothing you will do that much better with a lot.|||Quote:

The hardcore builds are good to look at if you're just starting out, because a lot of Hardcore players play untwinked. So their builds don't tend to rely on godly equipment. One thing to be aware of though is that some of them were played as challenge characters- you'll want to avoid following those builds, generally. Anyway, good luck.|||Quote:
